Amalgam fillings frequently raise questions in modern dentistry. Though it has no adverse effect on the patients, its application decreased thanks to the appearance of new, modern materials. Although it has prominent properties, it can be a well functional filling in the tooth for decades. Generally, there are two reasons why it is necessary to replace. On the one hand, the patients' increased aesthetic needs when the doctor notices any secondary caries in the tooth next to the filling. On the other hand, with the appearance of new materials, we have many options to replace an amalgam filling with a more suitable one. In the case above, I replaced two amalgam fillings in two ways: one is a composite filling, the other is an aesthetic onlay.
