Welcome to the broad team of denture users
If this is your first-time wearing dentures, it might feel a little unusual and strange at the beginning. However, please be aware that it can take approximately 2 or 3 weeks to have the final version perfectly suited and tailored for you. It is important to be patient throughout this process. Feeling an initial discomfort is perfectly normal.
We highly recommend wearing your dentures for as long as possible during the day, as it will make getting used to it a lot easier and quicker. Nevertheless, if you notice a strong discomfort, pain or your gums become sore, feel free to take it out and have a rest from it from time to time.
You might wonder what if the pain does not stop or go away by itself? In that case, please book an appointment with your dentist, so that your denture can be adjusted or amended.
We understand it’s quite exciting to have a brand-new beautiful smile again that you want to preserve and enjoy for a long time. Hence your next question might be:
How to take care of your dentures?
We advise you to take your dentures out overnight and clean them daily. Here are three easy steps to follow when it comes to taking care of your dentures:1. Step- Removing your dentures– Rinse and lubricate your mouth with clean tap water. Remove your dentures by moving them gently back and forth.
2. Step: Rinsing- Fill a container or glass with enough warm (but not too hot) water to cover your denture(s). Dissolve one denture cleansing tablet in the water and place your dentures in the container or glass.
3. Step: Manual cleansing- Brush your dentures gently by using a soft-bristled brush and the liquid of the denture cleaner. Try to avoid using regular toothpastes as dentures are 10 times softer than real teeth. What is more, using regular toothpaste can scratch your dentures and create little holes where bacteria can build up or settle. However, the best you can do for your oral hygiene and denture care is to make sure that you clean your dentures properly on a daily basis.
4. Step: Rinsing- Miután beáztatta és megmosta fogsorát következik a negyedik és egyben utolsó lépésünk az öblítés. Alaposan mossa át protézisét folyó víz alatt.
It is also crucial to keep your mouth clean in the meantime: brush your gums, tongue, and palate with a soft-bristled brush before putting your dentures back.
When wearing dentures, feeling that they are secure in your mouth can increase your confidence when going about everyday life. Denture adhesives, also referred to as fixatives, can make your life easier by offering stability and comfort so you can enjoy laughing with friends and continue to eat the foods you love. Denture adhesive can come in the form of cream, powder or strips, and can make your denture feel a lot more secure. A denture adhesive, such as those offered in the Corega range, may come in particularly handy when eating, speaking, or getting used to the fit.
How to you use a denture adhesive cream?
Please always follow the advice given on the package of the product that you are currently using. Here, we listed a few tips when applying a Corega denture fixative cream:
